What is scp 2996?

SCP-2996 is a Euclid-class anomaly that appears to be a rectangular wooden box measuring 1 x 1 x 0.25 meters. It was discovered in a storage room at an abandoned military base in the United States. SCP-2996 appears to be a container for a significant amount of what appears to be letters and parcels. However, closer inspection revealed that the box operates as a gateway to an alternate dimension. When opened, SCP-2996 leads to a short hallway before accessing a larger room with an observation window. This other dimension appears to be a postal office, with uniformed employees (designated SCP-2996-1) performing mail duties. SCP-2996-1 appears to be human but closer inspection has revealed them to possess several anatomical variations from humans, including minor differences in facial and body structure. The postal office in the alternate dimension has a different set of countries than found in the observable dimension. Attempts to retrieve parcels from SCP-2996 have failed, and it appears to dispense only a limited range of postal packages. A different set of postal packages appears to be available every time SCP-2996 is accessed. SCP-2996 has been placed in a standard containment locker with no restrictions on access to it at this time. A weekly inventory is performed to log the changing inventory of available parcels. SCP-2996 is under constant video surveillance and is to be relocated to a larger containment facility if required as its anomalous properties evolve or become more apparent.
